Viral democracy

As some people may know, we are working for the political campaign of Javier Medina, who is running for federal congress in representation of Yucatan’s fourth district.

Ironically, this article is not about politics nor about our client. It is about three viral videos we’ve done for his campaign. Videos that serve more as a social medium to create political awareness than as a mean to gain more voters.

Without further ado, here they are.

El típico Diputado (The typical congressman)

The first viral is about the congressman we all Mexican know. This stereotype we are tired of, steels the spotlight for being loud, irresponsible, populist, etc. It is also compared to the congressman we really want to see. The one who tries to do his job well is in blue (the color of the party we’re working for) and the one who is typical is red (color used by many parties, including the most important adversary in this campaign). It was made to be split in four videos but at the end it was launched all together.

When you don’t vote (or “instead of voting”)

The next viral (recently launched) is an answer to the traditional lack of interest to vote in the elections for congressmen. In Mexico the work of a congressman is commonly neither popular nor known (and for good reasons). We tried to quickly communicate in the style of the previous viral the repercussions for the next three years if you ignored the day of the elections.

The place for democracy

The next viral (even more recent) answers to the intimidation tactics to manipulate the citizen’s vote that happen in Mexico. Many citizens, wether it is for gifts or threats (which normally come together) think the HAVE to vote for one party and not for the other. We wanted to make a piece which could state perfectly clear a fact that it is still not obvious for a lot of Mexican: nobody can know who you voted for.

Aaaaanywho. As it is stated at the beginning of this post, this is NOT a political article. It is part of our agency’s portfolio and we liked the results. If you did too, go ahead and spread the viral :P

Greetings!

100 Brands of Interest (2)

1002

David Pache runs an excelent branding studio called Dache, based in Switzerland. Their work is honestly around the best we’ve seen internationally. David has (for the second time) searched for the most atractive design firm logos worldwide. Truth is we were pretty surprised to find the logo of our company (H. Creativos) in the “100 BRANDS OF INTEREST“, among designers we look up to and only know from the design books we buy.

It is fair to mention we would have never realised about this if it wasn’t for our good friend Manuela Ruiz Sessé, talented spanish designer living in Amsterdam.

Greetings Manuela and thanks a lot. We hope to see you again very soon (hopefully this time we will be the ones flying over).

General Electric’s (GE) Smart Grid Website

This is, without a doubt, a very important breakthrough in the interaction capabilities of a personal computer using the most basic technology.

General Electric launched this site about their energy efficient technology called “the smart grid” and it is really wonderful (both the site and the technology). I can’t tell wether this is the first site which creates a “virtual reality” in the user hands. However, I am pretty sure this is the first site making users blowing their computers.

(You need a webcam, mic and a printer to do this. It is worth it).

Promo: A company is an idea

promo_poster

A couple of weeks ago we made a video promo for our company (H. Creativos) with the intention of expressing in a minute and a half our vision of what a company really is. “A company is an idea” has also become our new corporate “motto” or slogan (all rights reserved, just in case :P ).

We believe now, more than ever, the most eloquent response towards differentiation is branding. Getting the 4 p’s of marketing right is not enough anymore (has it really ever been enough?).

Watch the promo for MacWindows or iPhone.

Predecón: New identity

Marca Predecón

Predecon sells a constructive system based on the use of pre-cast concrete. This system offers great advantages for architectural design, construction speed and costs for the client.

The Brand proposal abstracts the capital letter of the name with a volumetric visual concept which conveys important benefits of the final product: personalized projects, capacity to solve construction challenges and great aesthetic in the final facades.

The last image corresponds to the previous brand design.
